At Misty Ridge we take pride in our dogs and the people who purchase them. This page explains why.
This is Ella, she is a MISTY RIDGE PUP!! She is at her new home in California and has already taught her new owners how to bring in the news paper. All of the Misty Ridge puppies are very intelligent at their young age. Ella is only 12 weeks old in this photo and see how smart she is!!
From Aico(2 yrs), Kyla(3yrs), Cristina & Andreas "Hi Joyce, "As we remember it... : a requisite for having a "Misty Ridge GSD" (according to Joyce :) ) is to on a daily basis provide them with sufficient intellectual and physical challenges. Well, where do we go from here? Have a nice weekend!"
Who says it's a dog's life, like a dog's life is something bad. Heck, it sounds like a good life to me.
You may enjoy this one!

Hi Joyce, Just wanted to let you know how much we are loving our new addition "Quila" . We recently heard a song called Tequila Frenzy and she definitely is "all that". I never thought I could love another dog as much as I did Margee who passed away in Oct. but Quila has definitely proved me wrong. She is full of spunk and much, much affection. Also, she is quite the beauty. We are truly enjoying her so much. The weather has indeed been a challenge but with spring in the air we'll be outside in grass real soon. Again, thank you for helping us and for bringing Quila into our lives, she indeed makes it very, very happy for us to come home. Love,Diane, Tommy and Quila Roland P.S. The new puppies are all so cute, wish we could get some more!!!

This is Ana, a Misty Ridge female out of Sammy and Eika with her owner/trainer/handler Molly Brunner. Ana was a year old in this picture and Molly was preparing her for her 'B' title, the first step in her training process. Since then Molly and Ana got their "B'" and her SchH 1 Title.Molly is an experienced trainer, working with her second dog in Schutzhund. She is a great dog handler/trainer, excelling in the tracking phase. Most important, she loves her dog. UPDATE! Congratulations to Molly and Ana on receiving the SchH3 Title. We are very proud of their accomplishment. |

This is Lynne with Taylor. Lynne would like to share about her great dog from Misty Ridge. Taylor is trained as a medical alert Service Dog. She passed her access test with flying colors. Lynne takes Taylor with her where ever she goes knowing the tremendous comfort of all her capabilities. Lynne and Taylor also belong to a club and she has two nursing homes they visit. The residents are delighted to see her come and it really brightens their day. Lynne is very proud of her girl and has every right to be! Great job to the both of you. |
Joyce,
We just wanted to write a note of thanks. Hank is a joy and a wonderful addition to our family. The boys are really enjoying their new best buddy! We thought you might enjoy some pictures. We'll be sure to send a few more as he continues to grow...bigger and bigger!!!!

Joyce,
Just wanted to let you know that Gunner is doing just great with his new family. I remember asking you if you ever had any problems with your puppies ears and you told me you couldn't remember that last time you had to tape a puppy. Well just take a look at the head on this beautiful puppy. He just turned 11 weeks and his ears have been like this for the last 2 weeks. The whole neighborhood marvels at what a great looking puppy he is!!
Thanks
The Hoffmans

What a Gentle Giant! Have you ever seen such love and devotion. This Misty Ridge pup is truly the love of their lives. |
This photo below shows that Misty Ridge pups are rising to a whole new level!

The ride home yesterday was fine with the puppy. Scott was all to happy to ride with the puppy on the plane. (good thing his new lady love is her - or I'd be jealous) Her name is Duchess Hunter von der Misty Ridge. Duchess for she is very royal, regal and confident, Hunter for it was the Hunter full moon yesterday. We just LOVE her and the transition was very smooth. The kids are out of their mind about her. Thank you again for such a fine new number of the family. |

Here is a recent picture of Duchess. Her coloration is beautiful and she has the most amazing temperament. She is just a pure joy and she just LOVES the snow...hardly can get her in and forget it when the kids sled. Also have noticed she is keenly observant to planes and birds in the sky and I feel for the deer in our woods. She knows their every move and is quite good at flushing them out. |

Talk about lying in the lap of luxury, these "3" Misty Ridge pups have it made in the shade! Assumpta, Barnabus, and Benedict also love to come back and visit for rest here at the resort when mom goes away. We always love to see them return. |

I thought you might want to meet Ellie! She's the newest addition to the Boggs family of canines. I was a little worried that Bizz ( the German Shepherd puppy) might be too rough with her, but guess who she's decided to torment?..yep!...Bizz.. he's 5-1/2 months old, now 65 pounds and counting! He is really a beautiful dog! Bizz likes riding in the back of the 4 wheeler and runs along after it when we let him out. |

Hi Joyce: Samson (7 months, Dodge and Caisie) and Bella (10 months, Dodge and Genna) are doing just great out here on the Eastern Shore. These two have quickly become the pride of our entire neighborhood! People stop us constantly on walks to ask where they came from and to tell us how beautiful they are, including our town's K-9 Officer who always stops to check them out. Thanks for producing such wonderful pets! |

Hello Joyce, I called you in November regarding Inga. Thank you for your kind phone call back. She was such a good girl and we truly miss Inga. We are interested in a female with the same temperament as Inga. She was just perfect with everyone (except bad guys!). Inga was always so gentle with children and she was very intelligent. Thank you for selling Inga to us back in l998. |

Hi Joyce, We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. I just wanted to send you a quick email with some pictures of our dog that we bought from you back in April. What a wonderful dog she is. We couldn't be happier. She is loving, gentle, smart and an all around great family dog. She is from the Fanta/Enzo litter. We also get compliments whenever we take her somewhere about how beautiful and well behaved she is. Thanks so much for giving us such a great dog that has truly become part of our family. |

Hi Joyce, I just wanted to take a moment and send a picture of HANS...He is from the Dodge/Kayla litter from July 2007. At almost 6 months old, he is a strong, protective and very playful big guy. BIG GUY!! No matter where we take him, he is the star! He looks very much like his dad. Hope you're doing well and i will keep you posted on Hans as he continues to grow. He is in training (as I am) and from what we have seen his prey drive and his nose are great! Everybody asks "where did you get that shepherd, he is beautiful!!" We always tell them, where else, Misty Ridge! I am sure you hear that often, but it really is true! He turns heads and I think knows it...!
Hi, Joyce here is an update on Falla ( Falco ,Bobbie lee) she turned 2 in December .she is beautiful and doing great. she is one of the smartest dogs we have had. Falla is an excellent Frisbee catcher .yes she has kept us very busy , but we could not ask for a better dog !! thanksKim and Kenita

Hi Joyce,
These are the photographs of Gypsy, whom my sister Mary Carolyn recently took home. As you can see, it's another happy delivery of one of your wonderful dogs! The other two in the shot are my dogs Krista (Dolly from Belgium) and Rudy (one of Falco's boys). We really love your dogs and so does everyone else who meets them. We always look forward to visiting Misty Best regards,
Greg Thies

This picture is of Duke at 4.5 months....he's very lively and happy; and he is full of mischief and must be watched every second...he's particularly fond of his tennis ball. He will be going to school next month. Mac
Hello,
My name is Ariel. My dog Cody just passed away on February 20th and my mom and I are really lonely. I am writing you because we want to get another dog. His dad was Sultan and his mom was Natasha. He was always really friendly and an overall great companion. I want to know which upcoming breeding would produce offspring that would have similar temperament and personality as Cody. I really like the way Dodge looks, and I really like how Briska looks. I also would like a dog that looks somewhat like him, Cody had gorgeous coloring and was built beautifully. Thank you for bringing such a great dog into our lives.

Hi Joyce!
It has been one week today since we picked up Kaiser. He's doing great with the house training and growing well. He's everything you said: lots of work, tons of fun and way too cute. Don't worry--he's not getting away with anything (from these two "marshmallows!") Attached are some pictures we thought you would enjoy. We love our little guy.
Best Regards, Trish and Rick
Hi Joyce,
Hopefully, you may remember Wil Schlosser, a gentleman of about 75, who had
lost his shepherd, Brutus, and came to you for another. You were so kind to
spend time with us in selecting a puppy. We decided on an inquisitive little
guy who you said would be a good companion and friend to Wil. We picked him
up on Memorial Day about 6-1/2 years ago, and needless to say, he has lived up
to your reputation. He has a little cock-a-Poo brother and they sleep
together, eat together, and play together. We spend our winters in Florida
and our summers on Wil's farm, the Rapidan Ranch, in Madison, Virginia. Max
is healthy, happy, and we love him very much. I'm enclosing a picture of the
portrait I had done for Wil for Christmas....I always loved the portrait you
had of Sultan? (I think that was his name). I'm enclosing a few other
pictures of Max and Mikey.
We hope you are well. We've recommended your facility to many of our friends.

Maggie Zim von der Misty Ridge – DOB August 2006
Hi Joyce, I just wanted to send you a couple of pictures of Maggie (Chuck/Briska) and thank you for all your help, advice and understanding. You and your staff have always been there to help with questions, boarding, or anything else needed with raising Maggie. I can honestly say that after having many dogs in my life (mostly goldens ), she has turned out to be the most loving, devoted, and intelligent dog that I’ve ever had. She is now 18 months old and about 100 lb and gentle as a kitten. As part of our family, it is always good to see her happy face and playful antics to put life in proper perspective. Thanks again

Hi Joyce - here are a couple of pictures of Elsa from today. Fun at the park! Almost 6 months old. We love her.
Joyce, this is Gus, I thought you might want this picture for your site. Truly a gently giant! He loves his little Aussie sisters. Captain Cynthia R. Smith, Garrett County Detention Center, Oakland, Maryland 21550
Hi Joyce, This is Marianne and Steve (retired Balto. Co. Police) we bought a puppy from you back in November 2007. We named him Gunnar (he was the one that you said was going to be so ornery). He is ornery but he is getting better. He does have his moments. Steve is really working with him, while walking on lead he loves to chase cars, he loves that movement. Steve said his drive is unbelievable. He is now 55 pounds and has beautiful markings. He really looks like his mom Mandy. His ears are so big we can’t believe how big they are. They are standing up so pretty. We have bee wanting to bring him out so you can see him, but we didn’t want to impose. I know you said you are usually there on Sundays for your training. We would love to have a picture taken with him and his dad Dodge. We are going to try and kennel him with you we would only trust your kennel with him. We are so happy to have him in our family! What a beautiful dog, we have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful he is, and they always ask where did we get him. I hope we can come see you soon! Steve is trying to work with him on his OB. Marianne

This beautiful girl, Taza, was my loyal, intelligent, sensitive and beloved companion for almost 13 years. She loved to play, too, all her long life. Her she is with her favorite toy after a real workout.
Thank you, Joyce. Barbara Opper

Hi Joyce, I wanted to send the attached picture of Ruger at 6 months, 65 pounds (Dodge/Karrie born 10/16/2007). As you can see he is looking more and more like his father Dodge. He is happily living down in Easton, MD and loves his new big yard. He has been learning to dig up the yard and flowers; I guess he thinks he is helping his mommy out with the yard work. We just wanted to thank you so much for our lovely Ruger, and we believe that your dogs are simply the BEST!
Best wishes, The Michelsons.
Joyce, This is Kaiser (Dodge/Genna) at 6 months. He's a great dog and has a wonderful disposition.
Thank you so much, Matt Lively

A handsome addition to there family 5/02/08
Thanks so much for the fax. Gracie is doing so well. She and Ruby are competing for attention. Beau basically says “whatever.” She is very close to housebroken…just an occasional accident few and far between. She loves retrieving the tennis ball and playing tug-a-war. She is currently into dumping her water bowl so we bought a weighted bowl. Now she sloshes the water out with her paws! We’re enjoying the adventures.

Joyce and The staff at Misty Ridge,
Thank you so much for helping us to choose new dogs for our family. When we originally visited Misty Ridge for the first time, we had plans to bring home only one German Sheppard. We learned a lot while visiting and we were so impressed by your kennel; we knew that we had to have two puppies! We chose one male and one female from different litters. You told us to visit anytime. We really felt at home. We bonded with the puppies before we even took them home. We chose Misty Ridge as our breeder, because the quality of the facility and the animals is excellent. Another thing that we learned at your facility is how rewarding dog training can be. While visiting the puppies on Sundays, we really enjoyed watching the Schutzhund club work with the dogs. We could tell that the club members really enjoyed their dogs and that the feeling was enhanced by training them to this high level of obedience. We are life long dog owners but, we have never seen or trained dogs at this level. We decided to give the training a try. To date, we have been training for 6 months and the progress is remarkable. We never thought that we could own and train a dogs with such extreme focus and drive. With the club, we learned handling techniques in tracking, obedience, and have started to learn the protection phase. We hope to achieve our BASIC HANDLING titles for both dogs as soon as they are eligible. The club is instrumental for the training and it has proven to be a great hobby for all of us. The dogs are awesome working dogs and fabulous family pets to boot. The dogs are great with kids and adults alike. They are powerful animals, and it is a real treat to walk them without worry of coming across another dog, stranger, or other unknown distraction. They are well behaved and enjoy doing so. Please enjoy these pictures of our dogs. We are proud to share them with you.

Hi Joyce, hope things are will with you, just wanted to send you some recent pic of Tsar, he is one of the best puppies I have ever had, He is a very good dog, his first night was a dream, no crying he did very well that was a first for me. He likes to sleep in the bathroom maybe because it's cool in their. he's a very smart dog and obedient, as of last 5/24 his was 20lb.thank you once again for producing a fine bread of GSD, my vet said he is the best looking Shepard she has seen and his temperament is great that I got a great puppy, but I know that anyway. Thanks Joyce. I will keep in touch, take care tell Tina Hi
Duke is now 8.5 months, very healthy, but going through his "teenage" years. He seems to take particular delight in grabbing the leash while walking and engaging in a vigorous tug-of-war. We're working on that with some private lessons. He has a very large GSD friend for doggy play time, which is great as that tires him out. Mac Hadley
Dear Joyce,
I apologize for taking so long to write and thank you. We named the puppy we got from you Gina and she is just wonderful. She is smart as a whip, well behaved around people and other animals and incredibly loving. We are so happy we found you.
